Steps followed by web master tool:
1.Create account:
First sign into webmaster tool account, which account can easily access by gmail account.
2.Add site:
login to account- go to home page -then click "add a property button" - then add your website address by clicking add site button - past URL into the text box - click continue button
3.Verification:
In verification process google provide the authorship on your website. Verifying ownership of your site in webmaster tool, provide you and google a secure channel for giving and receiving information. Verification doesn't affect your site performance in google search result.
4.Verification methods:
There are mainly four methods for verification process
a)Domain name provide: It is very important to put domain name in verification process because which used to index your site page. We can set domain as www or non www. The preferred domain name can used for your site in the search result.
b)HTML file upload: By uploading HTML file into your site , it helps to verifying ownership of a site.
c)HTML meta tag: By adding meta tag , you can verify your ownership of the site. It helps to give more information about the error
d)Google analytics: By using google analytics , we can track the website taffic
