The Google Webmaster Tool ,  now a days it's called Google search console. It is free Website service for webmasters. which helps to webmaster to check indexing status and optimization result.

Webmaster Tool introduced by google and it will tell how many user are visit your site.

                                                                   

Webmaster tool features:

-It helps webmaster to check if  there are any error in the website

-When the google bot's access a particular site , webmaster can find out crawl rate

-list crawl error

-Receive notification from google

-list internal and external link

-check security issues

Steps followed by web master tool:

1.Create account:

 First sign into webmaster tool account,  which account can easily access by gmail account.

2.Add site:

 login to account- go to home page -then click "add a property button" - then add your website address by  clicking add site button - past URL into the text box - click continue button

3.Verification: 

In verification process google provide the authorship on your website. Verifying ownership of your site in webmaster tool, provide you and google a secure channel for giving and receiving information. Verification doesn't affect your site performance in google search result.

4.Verification methods:

There are mainly four methods for  verification process

a)Domain name provide: It is very important to put domain name in verification process because which used to index your site page. We can set domain as www or non www.  The preferred domain name can used for your site in the search result.

b)HTML file upload: By uploading HTML file into your site , it helps to verifying ownership of a site.

c)HTML meta tag: By adding meta tag , you can verify your ownership of the site. It helps to give more information about the error

d)Google analytics: By using google analytics , we can track the website taffic

5.Crawl:

Crawling process is done by google bot's. After crawling , we can find out errors in our website. It helps to identify various issues in our site. Google show the search result , only crawling process is done.

                                                     

6.Fetch as Google:

It helps how people can view a published web page in google. Which is also Webmaster feature. It guide you to submit pages in google index manually, and make the work more easier and quicker . Therefore google identify the changes in our website.
